President Donald Trump signed on Friday a bill that provided $15.25 billion in Hurricane Harvey-related aid and included a three-month extension of the federal debt ceiling to keep the government running.
The House of Representatives approved the measure earlier Friday; the Senate had passed it Thursday.
The House vote was 316-90. Republicans cast all the opposition votes.
The legislation was the result of a deal made this week by Trump, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer of New York and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California.
Some conservative Republican lawmakers strongly objected to the agreement, preferring instead a stand-alone hurricane relief measure that was not linked to efforts to raise the federal borrowing limit and keep the federal government operating until December 8.
The Harvey-related aid was made available just as Hurricane Irma, one of the most powerful hurricanes in recorded history, was expected to hit the southeastern state of Florida.
Hurricane Harvey devastated parts of Texas and other portions of the Gulf Coast region last week.
